Shen Games News Archives
July 6th, 2010 Keep those retinas glued to the screen! Going the Distance 6: Too Scared is almost done and will be released very soon. This series has become my playground for trying new ideas... as long as I can somehow fit "distance" into it. Part 6 is made especially for those who love dice games like Yahtzee. June 1st, 2010 Pixel Dodge is released today! It's unpolished! I essentially got tired of looking at this gosh-darned game and decided to release it without its bells and whistles. Turns out people like the mechanic as its a new approach to the standard "dodge / avoid" game. Interesting. I suppose I'll have to go and work on 1.5 and put in those extra powerups, modes and achievements. May 10th, 2010 Pixel Swap is released today! Pixely! Go try to get the fastest time in this OCD organizing game of pixels! May 4th, 2010 Going the Distance 5 is released today! Hooray! Go down the space shooter path and shoot 'em up some asteroids! The story is negligible, but hopefully the pixel graphics are tasty. March 18th, 2010 (Don't) Save the Princess, the Flash version, is now up and running at NinjaKiwi's site! Wayne Marsh was responsible for the port. Check it out! February 18th, 2010 Roosevelt Rush launched today! It's my little game for President's Day 2010. Yes, I know it's a little late, but I have my reasons. I wanted to remember former President Franklin Roosevelt for his extreme awesomeness and not his polio. GO EXTREME! Link: Roosevelt Rush January 5th, 2010 Sheep - A Card Game is the newest game of the new year over here at Shen Games! Actually, it's only somewhat "new". It's a port of the original PC download I made last year. I figured that I was getting better at Flash and could port it easily as a "get me motivated" project. Three train rides and one lunch later it's done. Link: Sheep - A Card Game December 24th, 2009 Going the Distance 2 is the newest game to be released! It was graciously sponsored by SPIL Games and has made it possible for running water and electricity. Give it a go and try to get the top score! Link: Going the Distance 2 December 4th, 2009 Someone Towed the Car is a very short game I made to poke fun at a recent car towing. It was done in an hour and I drew it on post-it notes. Are you game enough to win? Link: Someone Towed the Car October 13th, 2009 How Muni Stole $75 From Me is a demo that utilizes the dialogue/game engine that I've been working on for the last week or so. These games are dialogue driven, much like Japanese visual novel games. The Hershel Engine is named after one of my favorite game series, Professor Layton. Expect to see actual "full length" games in the near future. Link: How Muni Stole $75 From Me October 6th, 2009 Ikuze is a Flash game project that I was recently working on and decided to abandon. You can check out the page to play the working demo and see why I've decided to pass on the idea for now. It may be something I revisit in the future. Link: Ikuze September 18th, 2009 Zombie Farm is released today! It's my latest jump into the Flash gaming space. To celebrate the event, I've gone and created a wallpaper if you care to decorate your desktop accordingly. You can find it on the game page. Link: Zombie Farm August 6th, 2009 It's been a little quiet lately here in the land of Shen Games. It's mainly beacuse I've been working on an advergame for The CW. Nothing crazy. Just a simple "hidden object" affair for their upcoming show The Vampire Diaries. I've uploaded it here for your enjoyment. Link: Vampire Diaries: Race Against the Dawn June 25th, 2009 There's a post with some screenshots from my newest WIP game Eternal Bakery Battle. You can find out more about it at my personal blog, which is essentially a dev.blog, art.blog and everything.else.blog in one. It's still not nearly as amazing as the ShamWOW! though. Link: Eternal Bakery Battle Screens May 1st, 2009 Sheep! is now released! Check out the games page to download it! ALSO... [drum roll]... (Don't) Save the Princess! just hit the pages on IGN! That's hitting the mainstream! WOWWEWWWAOWOW! Thanks to everyone for their support! You can check out the article here. April 21st, 2009 The newest Shen Games project is Sheep!, a single player card game that has you fencing in sheep as best to save themselves from eating each other (or any other natural disaster that you can make up). Check it out on the Sheep! Game Profile Page. April 15th, 2009 The fantastically awesome folks over at the IndieGames.com Blog have done a post of my latest game (Don't) Save the Princess! I'm extremely flattered and grateful for the post. It's like God coming up to you and saying, "you are validated for your work", placing His hand on your shoulder and you turning into a Pegasus with laser eyes. Link: IndieGames.com Blog Post April 11th, 2009 (Don't) Save the Princess! is released! Go check it out at the "Games" page! April 8th, 2009 Progress for the new game (Don't Save The Princess) is coming along nicely. The game will feature 24 original puzzles and level editor. The current build currently has 18 levels and a working editor, though the latter--as I'm sure someone will tell me--could use some work. Also, overall polish is as smooth as sandpaper right now.
